The Colossus of Landi

The documentary Free at Sea explores the world of Seasteading, the movement to build free settlements in international waters.

Samuele Landi was an Italian entrepreneur, technologist, and futurist, testing a prototype in the Strait of Hormuz which was destroyed by a vicious storm. Landi perished at sea.

The film follows Landi's story and project, culminating in the construction and placement of a monument honoring the ultimate price he paid in pursuit of freedom.
